A Thought I'm Having And Wondering About

I don't know if I've posted about this before and I'm too lazy to go back through my archives.

I'm a pretty capable person, I can fix a lot of stuff mainly because I like puzzles and I'll sit there until I figure it out. Being raised by a single mother you kinda had to be capable. There weren't any men around to fix stuff for us so we found a way.

If I see a problem around and I can fix it I do. My thought is that Derek works hard all day and the last thing I want him to have to do is come home and try and fix something that might be frustrating. My other thought is that I hope this doesn't make him feel bad. Like maybe he wants to fix stuff because that's his way of taking care of me and the kids. I'd never want to make him feel bad, I just want to help and be an uplifting, encouraging wife.

Those are a couple of thoughts I'm having and wondering about right now.

Hi Erica! I've enjoyed reading your blog. Thanks for visiting mine :o)

Re: fixing things around the house, there is certainly nothing wrong with you taking care of stuff, being capable and willing to. You are right to think about your hard-working husband, and provide him a peaceful, orderly atmosphere to come home to, instead of greeting him at the door with a "Honey-Do" list.

On the other hand, when something comes up while he's at home, it is more feminine to let him take care of it, if that is his preference. When this happens in my home, I casually mention the problem, and if he jumps to the task, I let him of course! If not, I assume it's one he doesn't mind if I do it, so I do.

:o)

Hey Erica
I know this sounds crazy but I didn't realize who "Beautiful in God's Eyes" was. I am new at the blogging and don't have much time to enjoy it. You have encouraged me so many times with your comments to my blog. Now that I know it's you I will put your link on my blog (when I figure out how) and I will read your blog as often as possible.
About your fixing things, I am quite sure your husband is grateful. You sound like a wonderful wife. My husband doesn't like me to fix too much, because sometimes it ends up worse, but then sometimes I do better than he does. It's just all team work. I think you have it figured out.
